Jatiya Party nominates candidates for by-polls to Dhaka-10, Bagerhat-4, Gaibandha-3
DHAKA, Feb 17, 2020 (BSS) – Jatiya Party today nominated three candidates to contest the by-polls to Dhaka-10, Bagerhat-4 and Gaibandha-3 constituencies.
Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader announced the names of the candidates after a meeting held at the party Chairman’s Banani office today. GM Quader chaired the meeting.
Haji M Shah Jahan was nominated for Dhaka-10 constituency, Sajan Kumar Mistri for Bagerhat-4 and Mainur Rabbi Chowdhury was picked for Gaibandha-3.
As per the schedules announced by the Election Commission, the deadline for the submission of nomination papers is February 19. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on February 23 and the last date for withdrawal of candidacy is February 29.
The Dhaka-10 constituency fell vacant as Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh resigned on December 29 to contest the Dhaka South City Corporation election.
Gaibandha-3 and Bagerhat-4 constituencies fell vacant following the deaths of AL MPs Dr M Eunus Ali Sarkar and Dr Mozammel Hossain.
Jatiya Party’s senior co-chairman Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, Kazi Firoz Rashid, Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Mujibul Haque Chunnu and party’s secretary general Mashiur Rahman Ranga, among others, were present at the meeting.
