DHAKA, Feb 13, 2020 (BSS) – Terming the recent attacks on the journalists as condemnable and unexpected acts, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said an instant action was taken after the attacks on newsmen.
Dr Hasan, also ruling Awami League Joint General Secretary, came up with the remark as leaders of newly formed Broadcast Journalists Centre called on him at the Conference Room of the Information Ministry at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
He said, “I have expressed my condemnation soon after all untoward incidents occurred in recent time. . . Such incidents are really inadvertent and saddening.”
The minister went on saying that the government also took necessary measures in this connection and the suspected attackers on journalists during the polls to the Dhaka City Corporations were arrested.”
Appreciating the formation of a platform for the broadcast journalists, he said it was very essential to constitute the organization because there was no such organization earlier.
He hoped that this organization would help resolve the problems and crisis of broadcast journalists in days to come.
Convener of Broadcast Journalists Centre Redwanul Haque Raza led the delegation.
Among others, Rahul Raha of News-24, Rashed Ahmed of Mashranga Television, Saif Islam Dilal of ETV, Rivi Newaz of Channel-I, and Alamgir Swapan of Ekattur Television were also present there.
