Jewelries, cash burgled from city residence

DHAKA, Feb 9, 2020 (BSS) – Miscreants have burgled gold ornaments, cash money and other valuables worth around Taka 30 lakh after breaking the lock of a room of a residence at Chowdhury Para of Malibagh in the city.

Being informed, DMP’s Tejgaon Zone assistant commissioner and Hatirjheel Police Station officer-in-charge visited the residence’s duplex flat on the first floor with holding number 35/3/c at Chowdhury Para.

Hatirjheel Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Abdur Rashid confirmed the incident to BSS, saying owner of the residence Bangladesh Biman’s former chief engineer Debesh Chowdhury will lodge a case with the police station in this connection.

The OC said police is working to arrest the burglars.

Debesh said the thieves stole jewelries of his wife and daughters, cash money, one laptop, one mobile phone, eight hand watches and other valuables worth Taka around 30 lakh.

He said the incident occurred when he went to office and his wife and daughter were also outside of the residence.

Debesh is now serving as the chief engineer of BRB Airlines and his wife is a principal of a college in the city.
