Bourses end week extending downbeat

DHAKA, Feb 6, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock
Exchange (DSE) closed week extending downbeat as cautious investors continued
their sell-off on sector-wise issues.

The broad index, DSEX closed at 4452.96 points on Thursday, the last
working day of week, with a loss of 12.93 points or 0.28 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah
index, DSES also went down by 5.36 points and 1.90 points to settle at
1513.86 points and 1027.41 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 121,541 trades were executed
in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 134.06 million
securities.

Losers took a lead over gainers as out of 355 issues traded, 143
securities gained price while 151 declined and 61 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were Silco Pharma, Matin Spinning, BD Auto cars, ADN
Telecom, AB Bank First Mutual Fund, Samata Leather, Shepherd Industries, Alif
Industries, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund and Sinobangla Industries.

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh topped the turnover chart followed by ADN
Telecom, Indo-Bangla Pharma, BSC, BSCCL, Silco Pharma, BBS Cables, ML Dying,
Advent Pharma, Golden Harvest and Coppertech Industries.

The top 10 losers were CNA Tex, Jute Spinners, CAPM BDBL Mutual Fund,
Pioneers Insurance, Keya Cosmetics, Fareast Finance, ICB Islami Bank, Dhaka
Dying, BSC and Imam Button.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)
also closed at red extending the losing streak of previous day.

CSCX and CASPI declined by 19.80 points and 36.95 points to stand at
8211.97 points and 13542.58 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 6,360,028 shares and mutual fund of 237 companies
were traded, of which 100 issues advanced while 101 declined and 36 issues
remained unchanged.
