Nasim urges politicians to follow ideals of Suranjit

DHAKA, Feb 5, 2020 (BSS) – Awami league (AL) Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim today paid rich tributes to veteran AL leader Suranjit Sengupta calling upon the politicians to follow his ideals.

“Suranjit Sengupta was a pro-people leader and he used to look after his workers and the people as well,” he told a memorial meeting on Suranjit Sengupta at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) auditorium here.

Sunamganj District Association, Dhaka arranged the meeting marking the 3rd death anniversary of the former AL advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta.

“Politicians should maintain good relations with the people and they should be workers-friendly” said Nasim.

The AL presidium member urged the politicians to look after the workers and the people always.

Nasim said Suranjit was a frontline soldier of the Liberation War and one of the members of the 1972’s Constitution formulation committee.

Suranjit became a national leader and a respected one because of his high political personality.

AL Presidium Member Nurul Islam Nahid, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, State Minister for Information Dr. Md Murad Hassan, AL Organizing Secretary Ahmad Hossain, lawmaker Prof Ali Ashraf and Mahila Awami League President Safia Khatun, among others, attended the meeting.

Sunamganj District Association, Dhaka President Sujat Ahmed Chowdhury presided.
