‘Police forces have to play sports regularly’

RANGPUR, Feb 05, 2020 (BSS) – The police forces should have to play
different sport events regularly along with physical exercise to keep the
body and mind fit, sound and healthy.

Senior police officials expressed the opinion in the prize distribution
function after the final match of the ‘Bangladesh Police (IGP Cup) Cricket
Rangpur Range Championship-2020′ held at Police Lines Ground in the city this
afternoon.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Police Devdas
Bhattacharya witnessed the final match and distributed trophies among the
champions and runners up teams in the function as the chief guest.

The Dinajpur District Police Cricket Team became the champion by beating
Rangpur District Police Cricket Team in the final match today.

Presided over by Superintendent of Police (SP) for Rangpur Biplob Kumar
Sarkar, Additional DIG (Admin and Crime) for Rangpur Range Police TM

SP Biplob Kumar Sarkar called upon the members of the police forces to
further improve themselves, especially by the success of their professional
work, during the Mujib Year.

“If the people say that the police of 10 years ago are not the same as
today’s police, then we can earn public confidence and reputation and reach
the desired goal,” he said.

The chief guest said there was a time when the Bangladesh Police
Football Team played vital roles at the national level.

“Now, we have introduced the game of cricket with our police members who
will one day shine the honour of the country through proving their worth by
playing cricket,’ he hoped. “The youths of Bangladesh have brightened the
image of the country by playing cricket in the global arena. We want to
produce better cricketers in the police force who will one day play in the
