Islamic Scholar Anower Shah laid to rest in Kishoreganj
KISHOREGANJ, Jan 30, 2020 (BSS) – Allama Azhar Ali Anower Shah, Khatib of the historic Shahidee Mosque in Kishoreganj, was laid to eternal rest at his family graveyard ‘Bag-e Jannat’ here today.
He was buried next to his mother’s grave after a namaz-e-janaza at Sholakia Eidgah Maidan, family sources said.
His youngest son Maulana Anzar Shah Tamim conducted the namaz-e-janaza around 2 pm with participation of thousands of people.
Moshiur Rahman Humayun, special assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, joined the namaz-e-janaza as a representative of PM.
Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Murshed Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Md Mashrukur Rahman Khaled and District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shahjahan also took part, among others.
The Eminent Islamic Scholar breathed his last at 5:30 pm yesterday at a city hospital in Dhaka at the age of 73.
He was a member of the Supreme Authority of Madrasa Al-Hayatul Ulia Lil Jamiatil Koumiya Bangladesh and vice-president of the Befakul Madarisil Arabiya (Befak), Muhtamim of Al-Jamiyatul Imdadia Kishoreganj.
