BARGUNA, Jan 25, 2020 (BSS) – Three members of a family were killed and
three others injured as a bus ran over them in Patuakhali-Kuakata Road in
Amtali upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Nupur Begum, 30, a resident of Dakhin
Raogaon village under the upazila, her daughter Lamiya, 15, and son Nishat,
10.
Police said the fatal accident occurred at around 11m in Amtali town as the
driver of the bus lost his control over the steering and hit six pedestrians.
Nurur, Lamiya and Nishat died on the spot. Nupur’s youngest daughter
Mamota was also injured in the accident. Expatriate Abul Hossain, who is
Nupur’s husband was wounded in the accident. One critically injured person
named Jabbar was admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
The bodies were sent to Barguna General Hospital. Police seized the bus
from the spot.
Assistant Police Super Syeed Rabiul Islam visited the spot.
