BSS holds workshop on PM’s 10 special initiatives

DHAKA, Jan 22, 2020 (BSS)- Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), the state-owned news agency, held a workshop for its journalists on ‘The role of mass media in implementation of 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister’ at its meeting room here today.

Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar attended the opening session as the chief guest with Managing Director and Chief Editor of BSS Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.

Managing Editor and Chief News Editor of BSS Anisur Rahman and Chief Reporter Tareq Al Naser also spoke at the opening session.

Focal Point Officer of the PM’s 10 special initiatives Mahfuza Jesmin made a brief presentation on the activities of BSS about the PM’s 10 special initiatives.

Deputy Chief News Editor Ruhul Ghani Jyoti and City Editor Madhusudan Mondal discussed editing method of the stories on PM’s 10 special initiatives, sources of such news items and their proper utilization.

Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar called upon BSS to prepare a plan for celebration of the ‘Mujib Year’.

She also suggested collection of information and disseminating news about the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The main ideal and spirit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was patriotism which will have to be spread among the people, especially among the new generations.

Mentioning the 10 initiatives, Kamrun Nahar said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a visionary leader and she (PM) initiated Vision 2041 for building a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh as dreamt by Bangabandhu.

After the opening ceremony, information secretary went round different sections of the news agency.
