UNICEF delegation calls on UGC Chairman
DHAKA, Jan 19, 2020 (BSS) – A three-member delegation of UNICEF called on
Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) at the latter’s office today.
Chief of C4D (Communication for Development), UNICEF Bangladesh Neha Kapil
led the delegation.
Other members of the delegation include Dr. David Mould, Professor
Emeritus of Media, Arts and Studies at Ohio University, USA and Yasmin Khan,
C4D Manager of UNICEF, Bangladesh Country Office.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the UGC Chairman that UGC and
UNICEF will jointly announce the first ever C4D research fellowships for the
faculty members of public and private universities of the country at a
programme to be held on 4 February next.
The UGC chairman stressed the need for developing C4D curriculum on the
basis of local and global demands and needs.
UNICEF and UGC have been jointly working to foster C4D curriculum and
research among Bangladeshi Academic institutions since 2017.
Member of UGC Professor Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Director of Private
University Division Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam and Director (Current Charge) of
Research Support and Publication Division of UGC Md. Omar Faruque, among
others, were present on the occasion.
