Bangladesh Navy emerge champions in national athletics meet
DHAKA, Jan 18, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy emerged champions in the 43rd National Athletics Competition that concluded on Saturday at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.
Bangladesh Navy topped the table by winning 47 medals including 21 gold, 18 silver and 8 bronze medals while Bangladesh Army finished runners-up with 42 medals including 14 gold equal numbers of silver and bronze medals.
Bangladesh Ansar finished third in the table with two medals which included one gold and one silver medal after the concluding day of the meet.
A total of 375 men’s and women’s athletes — 287 of men’s and 88 of women’s — from thirty seven teams took part in thirty three events of the three-day meet organized by Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF).
The competition was organised to celebrate the “Mujib Barsho”, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
