Dhaka City Corporation polls will be free and fair: GM Quader

RANGPUR, Jan 11, 2020 (BSS) – Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Golam Muhammad Quader today hoped that the Dhaka City Corporation elections will free, fair and transparent.

“We do not find anything to fear that the Dhaka City Corporation elections will not be fair and we are taking part in the election and assisting the government and Election Commission for holding the elections in a free and fair manner,” he said.

Quader made these observations while talking to journalists after offering Fateha and special munajats at the grave of late JaPa Chairman and former President Alhaj Hussein Muhammad Ershad at his Palli Nibas residence complex in the city this afternoon.

He came to Rangpur with the newly elected leaders of JaPa by air from Dhaka via Saidur airport to offer Fateha at the grave of Ershad and attend views-exchange meeting with leaders and workers of the party of Rangpur region.

After offering Fateha and munajats seeking divine blessings for the departed soul of Ershad and continuous peace, prosperity and development of the people and country, Quader addressed the meeting participated by leaders and workers of the party.

Secretary General of JaPa and Chief Whip of the Opposition Mashiur Rahman Ranga, its co-chairmen Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu and Advocate Salma Islam, central leaders Barrister Shameem Haider Patwari, MP, Panir Uddin Ahmed ,MP, Ahsan Adelur Rahman ,MP, Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, General Secretary of district JaPa Fakhar-Uz-Zaman Jahangir, its city unit General Secretary SM Yasser Ahmed, among others, were present.
