Special trains for Ijtema devotees
DHAKA, Jan 9, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway (BR) will operate three-day
special train services on several destinations for the devotees participating
in the Biswa Ijtema that starts from tomorrow at Tongi.
Alongside, two juma special train services also will be operated on Dhaka-
Tongi-Dhaka route on January 10 and January 17 (Friday), a railway ministry
press release said here today.
As per the schedule of January 11 and January 18, special trains will be
operated on Jamalpur-Tongi route.
On the day of Akheri monajat on January 12 and 19, a total of five special
train services in the name of “Special train-1, 2, 3, 4, and 5” will be
operated from Dhaka-Tongi route which starts journey from Dhaka in the
morning.
On the other hand, four special train services “Special train-1, 2, 3 and
4” will be run on Tongi-Dhaka route from the morning on the day of Akheri
monajat on January 12 and 19.
Two train services will be operated on Tongi-Mymensingh route while
another train on Tongi-Tangail route will be operated on the day of Akheri
monajat.
Meanwhile, for convenience of travelling by the devotees, all inter-city
trains heading toward the capital will halt at the Tongi Station for two
minutes starting from January 8(afternoon) and it will continue till January
12(previous day of Akheri munajat), the release added.
The two phases of Ijtema will begin from January 10-12 and January 17-19.
