Adequate research stressed to establish true history

RANGPUR, Dec 30, 2019 (BSS) – Academicians, researchers, literary personalities and leaders of Rangapur Gobeshona Parishad (RGP) today stressed on conducting adequate research on the War of Liberation to establish the true national history.

They expressed the view at the day-long programs, including biennial (2019-2020) election council and discussion, arranged in celebration of the 14th founding anniversary of RGP at Public Library auditorium in the city.

President of the central committee of RGP, a research-based literature, cultural and social organisation, Professor Mozammel Haque presided over the first session of the functions.

Former Head of the Department of Bengali of Carmichael College Professor Mohammad Abdul Alim attended the functions as the guest of honour.

Noted literary and cultural personality Dr. Mofizul Islam Maantu, General Secretary of RGP Akbor Hossain, social worker Shushanto Kumar Khan, writer Rezaul Karim Mukul addressed the function moderated by poet Rezaul Karim Jiban.

President of Rangpur district unit of RGP Professor Hosne Ara Munshi, its Nilphamari district unit President Principal Hafizur Rahman, General Secretary of its Lalmonirhat unit Ferdousi Begum Beauty, General Secretary of Kurigram unit Dr. Tuhin Wadud, spoke.

General Secretary of RGP Akbor Hossain presented annual report of the organisation in the second (council) session in the afternoon.

Later, the incumbent executive committee was declared abolished as per constitution of the organisation.

After elaborate discussions, a panel led by Election Commissioner of RGP Advocate Siraj Ahmed was formed and the panel announced the next biennial (2019-2020) executive committee of the organisation.

Incumbent President of RGP Professor Mozammel Haque and Abdul Wahab Mian were elected as the new President and General Secretary respectively of the organisation.

The speakers discussed heroic role of common people, educationists, researchers, students and youths, farmers, literary and socio-cultural personalities of Rangpur region during the War of Liberation in 1971.

They discussed various organizational issues of RGP that is playing vital roles in conducting research on different fields of greater Rangpur region to accelerate developments in every sector.
