Mustafizur’s base price in IPL auction set INR 1 crore

DHAKA, Dec 13, 2019 (BSS) – Out of form pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman set his base price for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for INR 1 crore.

The original list of 971 players for the IPL 2020 auction has been trimmed to 332, the BCCI confirmed on Friday. A total of five Bangladeshi players including Mustafizur got their name in the final list.

While Mustafizur set highest base price for a Bangladeshi player, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad set their base price of INR 75 lakh. The base price of Sabbir Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin is INR 50 lakh.

The likes of Tamim Iqbal, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Soumya Sarkar and Taskin Ahmed however didn’t get their name in the final shortlist.

A total 997 players had initially registered after which the final list has been pruned following the submission of the shortlist of players by eight franchisees.

It includes 24 new players who weren’t in the original list, after the franchises requested for the addition. Among them are Kesrick Williams, who was a part of West Indies squad in the T20I series, Australians Dan Christian and Adam Zampa and Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim.

The auction will be held on December 19 at Kolkata.
