Law enforcers will offset violence: Quader

DHAKA, Dec 11, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the law enforcement agencies will give a befitting reply to BNP’s any possible attempt to trigger violence in the name of movement ro protect the people’s lives and properties.

“The verdict over Begum Khaleda Zia’s bail will be given tomorrow. They (BNP) set (motorcycles) on fire today. They are threatening of fire-terrorism. (But) the law enforcement agencies will give a befitting reply if BNP follows the path of violence,” he said.

Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks while addressing an extended meeting of Dhaka city north unit of AL as the chief guest at AL Central Office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue area.

Dhaka City North AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided over the meeting organized on the occasions of Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14, Victory Day on December 16 and AL’s national council on December 20-21.

The AL general secretary urged the party leaders and activists to remain alert so that BNP cannot create anarchy centering the verdict and said, “You should not do anything on your own, but at the same time should not remain silent if you come under attack”.

Terming the days coming ahead as challenging, Quader said, “Our opponents have banked on conspiratorial ways to go to power. They (BNP) are threatening the apex court of the country centering Begum Zia’s bail”.
