Probe committee formed over Dhaleshwari launch collision
NARAYANGANJ, Dec 7, 2019 (BSS) – A four-member investigation committee
was formed to look into the reason behind the launch accident between two
launches on Dhaleshwari river that happened in the early hours of Saturday.
The probe committee, led by Saiful Islam, joint director of naval
security and traffic management department, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport
Authority (BIWTA), was directed to submit its report within three working
days.
One was killed and five others were injured when a Chandpur-bound launch
collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound launch on the Dhaleswari River in
Charkishorganj border area of Narayanganj and Munshiganj around 1:35 am.
