Nasrul Hamid opens DRU’s new building
DHAKA, Nov 26, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today inaugurated newly constructed building of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha in the city.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan joined the inaugural ceremony as special guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasrul Hamid said the building with modern facilities is being built for the professional journalists’ organization DRU at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The construction works of the remaining part of the new building will continue, he added.
He called upon the journalists to present the government’s ongoing development activities in a proper way.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak pledged of setting up a digital lab having 10 high-configuration computers at DRU to ease the reporting of the journalists.
DRU President Elias Hossain chaired the function which was moderated by its General Secretary Kabir Ahmed Khan.
Under the initiative of Nasrul Hamid Foundation, the construction works of the building began in December last year.
The construction of the building’s first block has been completed. It has different facilities including conference room, canteen, digital library, DRU multipurpose cooperative and common room for women members.
