Court orders to confiscate wealth of Sefuda

DHAKA, Nov 19, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today ordered the authorities
concerned to confiscate wealth of Sefat Ullah alias Sefuda, a Bangladeshi
expatriate in Austria, in a case filed against him for allegedly making
derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and hurting the religious
sentiment of Muslims.

Judge Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of Cyber Tribunal (Bangladesh) in Dhaka
passed the order as police submitted a report before the court mentioning
that they could not arrest Sefuda as he is staying abroad.

Earlier, on September 29, the court issued an arrest warrant for Safuda
after accepting a probe report against him in connection with a case.

On September 10 this year, Sub-Inspector of Counter Terrorism and
Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Partha Pratim Brahmachari submitted the probe
report against Sefuda.

The probe report says Sefuda uploaded videos online several times,
making derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and hurting the
religious sentiment of Muslims.

On April 23 this year, Advocate Alim Al Razi Jibon filed the case against
Sefat Ullah under the Digital Security Act for using obscene words about
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina on Facebook and YouTube videos uploaded by him.
