Mohibul for actions against instigators of BUET stalemate
DHAKA, Nov 18, 2019 (BSS) – Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury today said steps will be taken against those out to create stalemate in the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
“Some vested quarters kept the university shut down for their ill motives. Steps will be taken against those who are instigating the movement,” he told a press conference on the overall situation of BUET at International Mother Language Institute here.
He said none has rights to keep stopped the academic activities of the university which is run with public money.
If there is any logical demand, that should be placed but none has rights to create hindrance to academic activities of the students, he added.
Terming the BUET student Abrar Fahad killing as tragic and sorrowful incident, Mohibul Hassan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Education Ministry were very careful so that the evidences of the murder cannot be destroyed.
He said all suspicious persons have been arrested and charge-sheets have also been submitted.
