ARREST-ROHINGYA
11 Rohingyas held while being trafficked to Malaysia
COX’SBAZAR, NOV 15, 2019 (BSS) – District police in a special drive today
detained 11 Rohingyas from Sonarpara area of Ukhia upazila of the district
while trafficking to Malaysia by sea .
Siddhartha Ghose, in charge of Inani police outpost told BSS that 11
Rohingyas including women and children have been congregated in a cottage at
the aforesaid area who were supposed to get on board of the trawlers at a
convenient time .
Acting on information, a team of police raided the cottage and detained them
but no trafficker was arrested in the drive.
Ghose said investigation to identify the traffickers is on in this
connection.
