Terrorist acts to be stopped in CHT: Bir Bahadur
BANDARBAN, Nov 13, 2019 (BSS) – Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing today said all terrorist activities would be stopped once for all in Chattogram Hill Tract (CHT) region as it disrupts the overall development of the hilly areas.
“All necessary steps will be taken to root out terrorism from CHT regions,” he said at a public rally as the chief guest organized by Fasyakhali union Awami League of Lama upazila at union parishad chattar.
The historic Chattogram Hill Tract (CHT) Peace Accord was signed between the CHT Affairs National Committee and The Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) at the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ending long-standing conflicts, he said, adding that to continue such initiative of the premier, all necessary steps will be taken.
CHT area witnessed a massive improvement in the communication system during the last few years, he said, adding that still many development works are underway for the betterment of the hill tract’s people.
He assured the people of implementing all kind of development activities, including setting up of a police camp in Fasyakhali.
With Fasyakhali Union AL President Nurul Hossain Chowdhury in the chair, the rally was attended, among others, by Additional Superintendent of Police Ali Hossain, Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Mostafa Jamal and Municipality Mayor Zahirul Islam.
