Jazana of MP Moinuddin Khan Badal held at JS complex

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2019 (BSS) – The namaz-e-janaza of valiant freedom fighter
and parliament member Moinuddin Khan Badal was held at South Plaza of Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban here this morning.

Political leaders, cabinet members, leaders of the 14-party alliance,
members of parliament, eminent personalities and officers and employees of JS
attended the janaza.

President M Abdul Hamid’s military secretary, on behalf of the head of the
state, placed wreath on the coffin of Badal, a three-time elected MP from
Chittagong 8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) constituency and a member of the standing
committee on Liberation War Affairs in the 11th parliament.

Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tributes
to him by placing wreaths on his coffin. After placing the wreath, the
premier stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect
to the memory of Badal, executive president of a faction of Jatiya
Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad).

Flanked by senior leaders and parliament members of the party, Sheikh
Hasina, also the Awami League president laid another wreath on the coffin on
behalf of the party.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazle Rabbi
Miah, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowhdury Liton and other whips also paid homage
to Badal by laying wreaths.

On behalf of leader of the opposition in Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad,
Fakhrul Imam placed wreath on the coffin.

Coordinator of Awami League-led 14-party combine Mohammed Nasim, on behalf
of the alliance, also paid the last tribute to the valiant Liberation War
hero there.

Earlier, a smartly turned out contingent of police gave the state gun-
salute, while bugle played the last post on the occasion.

JS Whip Iqbalur Rahim and Taimur Noor, son of Late MP, Moinuddin Khan
Badal, briefly spoke before the namaz-e-janaza that took place at the Jatiya
Sangsad’s South Plaza.

Dr Hasan Mahmud, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab
Uddin, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowhdury Liton, Deputy Speaker Advocate Fazle
Rabbi Miah, AL presidium member Mohammed Nasim, Whip Iqbalur Rahim,
Whip M Atiur Rahman Atik, Deputy Minister of Education
Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, lawmakers – Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Barrister
Fazle Noor Tapos, AB Tajul Islam, Mostafizur Rahman Fizar, Anisul Islam
Mahmood, Nazrul Islam Babu and Shafiqul Islam Shimul, senior leaders of
different political parties, and officials and employees of Jatiya Sangsad
Bhaban attended the janaza.

A munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul was offered after the
janaza. The Pesh Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Mosque conducted the munajat.

Badal passed away while undergoing treatment at Narayana Institute of
Cardiac Sciences at Bengaluru, India, on Thursday morning at the age of 67.
