Nastasic left out as Serbia name final World Cup squad
BELGRADE, June 1, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Serbia coach Mladen Krstajic on Friday named a 23-man World Cup squad without Schalke defender Matija Nastasic, who injured his right knee in April.
The squad is led by Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic and includes young Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Serbia will face five-time champions Brazil, Switzerland and Costa Rica in Group E at the finals in Russia.
Krstajic’s team leaves for Austria over the weekend, where Serbia will play pre-tournament friendlies against Chile on June 4 and Bolivia five days later.
