Freedom Fighter-Soldier Killing Day tomorrow

DHAKA, Nov 06, 2019 (BSS) – The pro liberation forces of the country will observe November 7 as ‘Freedom Fighter- Soldier Killing Day’ in a befitting manner.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) will mark the day as Soldier-People Mass Revolution Day.

On this day in 1975, the killing process of the freedom fighter-soldiers started in the name of soldier (Sipahi) revolution.

The process was initiated much earlier, in August 1975, through the assassination of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members.

Subsequently, on November 3 in 1975, the four national leaders were brutally killed in prison.

After four days, the then rulers started killing the finest sons of the nation.

In the name of Sepahi revolution, three prominent freedom fighters — Khaled Mosharraf (BirUttam), KN Huda (BirUttam) and ATM Haider (Bir Bikram)-were shot dead by two company commanders, Asad and Jalil at the headquarters of the 10th Bengal Regiment on this day in 1975.

About the so-called Sepahi revolution, journalist Anthony Mascarenhas wrote: “The wild jawans (soldiers) killed about 13 army officers including a female doctor and they also killed the wife of an army officer on the day”.

Marking the day, Jasad will hold a discussion meeting at 11 am tomorrow at the Shaheed Colonel Taher auditorium in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.

The Khaled Mosharraf Trust will organize a press conference and ‘Ovimot Prokash’ programme at 10.30 am at Maulana Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club tomorrow.

JASOD President and Hasanul Haq Inu, General Secretary Shirin Akhter, among others, will address it.

Khaled Mosharraf’s eldest daughter and former lawmaker Mahjabeen Khaled will present a written statement on the occasion.
