JS body for preparing deeds by computer
DHAKA, Oct 31, 2019 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs today suggested completing the land registration process through composing deeds by computers instead of handwriting.
The recommendation was made at the 6th meeting of the committee at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with the committee Chairman Abdul Matin Khasru in the chair, said a press release here.
Committee members Begum Sahara Khatun, Md Abdul Majid Khan, Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Shameem Haider Patwary attended the meeting.
The parliamentary watchdog also suggested forming a four-member parliamentary subcommittee headed by committee member Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker to find out the people responsible for public sufferings in land offices and the way of removing public sufferings.
Other recommended committee members are Md Abdul Majid Khan, Shameem Haider Patwary and Begum Rumeen Farhana.
The committee recommended for presenting a report on how the land registration fees are fixed in the next meeting.
Committee member Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh briefed the committee about the High Court directives on the Basic Bank corruption case.
Urging to include the Basic Bank corruption case in agenda of the next committee meeting, the parliamentary body also suggested ensuring the presence of Anti-Corruption Commission chairman and concerned investigation officers of case in the next meeting for not taking any step against the corrupt people of the Basic Bank.
Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar and concerned senior officials of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry and the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were present at the meeting
