Baghdadi died after exploding suicide vest: Trump
WASHINGTON, Oct 27, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – A US special forces raid that ended in the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in northwestern Syria also resulted in the deaths of “a large number” of his fighters and companions, President Donald Trump said Sunday.
“No (US) personnel were lost in the operation while a large number of Baghdadi’s fighters and companions were killed with him,” he said.
Baghdadi “died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way,” Trump said at a White House news conference.
