JS body on energy discusses 3 projects
DHAKA, Oct 27, 2019 (BSS) – The parliamentary body on power, energy and mineral resources today discussed the progress of implementation of three projects at a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The three projects are installation of a single-point mooring (SPM) with double pipeline, fuel transport through pipeline from Chittagong to Dhaka and Jet A-1 pipeline from Pitalganj to Kurmitola Aviation Depot (KDA) including pumping facilities.
“In a meeting the committee recommended completing the projects with sincerity within the time frame to save government money,” a parliamentary secretariat statement said.
The meeting also recommended the ministry to check the possibility of importing fuel not only from India but also from Myanmar, if needed. It also recommended production of fuel from local sources.
According to the statement this was the 9th meeting of the committee, which was presided over by the committee’s chairman M Shahiduzzaman Sarkar.
Committee members M Abu Zahir, M Aslam Hossain Sawdagar, Khaleda Khanam and Begum Nargis Rahman were present.
