Momen inaugurates “Bangabandhu Corner” in Berlin

DHAKA, Oct 19, 2019 (BSS) – As part of the celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin established a ‘Bangabandhu Corner’ at the Embassy premise today.

Amidst a 3-day-long official visit in Berlin, the Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen inaugurated the corner today at 10 am on the Embassy premise, a press release said.

The State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, National Committee for Birth Centenary Celebration Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany Imtiaz Ahmed were also present during the inaugural session, it added.

The corner is enriched with books on the life and philosophy of Bangabandhu, great war of liberation of 1971 and German, English and Bangla versions of the Unfinished Memoirs of the Father of the Nation, among others, various posters and historical photo collections.

After the inauguration, the ministers, other officials of the Embassy and members of the expatriate Bangladesh community sat for a discussion with a view to scheduling and implementing a successful year-long plan to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation starting from March 17 in 2020 and ending in March 17, 2021.
