Live Russell could be leader of country: Murad


DHAKA, Oct 17, 2019 (BSS) – Recalling the memories of Sheikh Russell, the
State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hassan today said he (Russell) would
have been a leader of the country if he was alive.

“We could celebrate his (Russel’s) birthday with full happiness if he was
alive,” he said at a programme as the chief guest on the occasion of the 56th
birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to be observed tomorrow.

Bangladesh Awami Sangskritik Jote organized the programme at Awami League
(AL) office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital with its Executive President
Falguni Hamid in the chair.

City South AL General Secretary Shah -e- Alam Murad and Prominent
Playwright M Hamid also spoke on the occasion.

“The murder of the Father of the Nation and his family was one of the most
brutal incidents in history.” Murad said.

Highlighting the memory of Russell, the state minister recalled the young
Russell, saying he did not get much company of his father but he followed the
lifestyles of Bangabandhu very closely.
