JS body discusses Hajj-2020 management

DHAKA, Oct 10, 2019 (BSS) – Parliamentary Standing Committee on Religious Affairs today discussed the management of ‘Hajj-2020’ and called for updating the facilities of the next year.

The parliamentary watchdog recommended taking steps to increase the number of Hajjis under the government arrangements by raising campaign on the government Hajj management, said a press release.

The committee called for taking time befitting steps to ensure smooth management of Hajj 2020. It also recommended taking steps to nominate members of the Hajj team through transparency and eligibility.

The committee members proposed to replace the existing Hajj mission from Misfalah to a far place and to launch a shuttle service to transport the Hajjis in Saudi Arabia to reduce their costs.

The meeting discussed about the activities of the Waqf Administrator and formed a sub-committee to ensure accountability with committee member Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari as its convener.

Committee chairman Hafez Nurul Amin Madani chaired the meeting.

Committee members Syed Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Mahmud us Samad Choudhury, Begum Zinnatul Bakia and Mosammat Tahmina Begum attended the meeting.
