Teenage girl dies of dengue in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Oct 6, 2019 (BSS)- A teenage girl died of the mosquito-borne
disease ‘dengue’ at a private hospital in the city here last night.
The deceased was identified as Sumi Boidya, 19, daughter of Sunil Boidya
hailed from Foyaz lake area under Khulshi thana in the city.
Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Azizur Rahman Siddique confirmed that Sumi was
suffering from dengue shock syndrome.
Her younger brother Arup Boidya, 16, has also been hospitalised with dengue
and doctor is expected to make a full recovery soon.
Earlier, the civil surgeon visited Sumi at National Hospital and her
brother Arup at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
Dr Rahman said the girl was initially treated at home by her father and
took medicine from his pharmacy.
“Sumi might have survived if she was given proper treatment from the
beginning,” he added.
