Militancy emerges from social media: Asaduzzaman

DHAKA, Oct 03, 2019 (BSS)-Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said militancy and terrorism emerged from social media rather than madrasa as it is the place for educated persons.

“No militants are taught in madrasa… Alems receive education from such institutions. Militancy and terrorism emerged from social media,” he said as the chief guest while addressing an annual sports and academic award ceremony at Government Padma College in Dohar upazila of the district.

He urged all to accept the good sides of social media and stay alert in this regard.

The home minister said the premier has declared zero tolerance against drugs, adding that the law enforcers are working sincerely to make the country drug-free as she (Sheikh Hasina) aspires to see Bangladesh as a beautiful abode for people.

The programme was inaugurated by the founder of the institute and its general secretary Inspector General of Registration Dr Khan Mohammad Abdul Mannan with Dohar Upazila Executive Officer Afroza Akhter Riba presiding.

Former Advisor on Religious and Health Affairs to the caretaker government of Bangladesh Dr AR Khan was present as the guest of honor on the occasion.

Dohar Upazila Parishad Chairman Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Awami League general secretary Ali Ahsan Khokon Shikder and other concerned leaders and officials also attended it.
