DSE, CSE trade flat

DHAKA, Oct 3, 2019 (BSS) – Country’s capital bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange
(DSE) ended another flat session today, in the last working day of the week,
due to the sluggish trade by the cautious investors.

The market opened on positive note and the key index went up about 20
points within the first 20 minutes of trading, but in the late hour it failed
to contain the trend rather ended almost flat for sale pressure.

The broad index, DSEX closed in green at 4937.82 points with a gain of
1.44 points or 0.02 percent from the previous day.

In addition, the two selective indices, DSE30 declined slightly by 3.26
points while the Shariah index, DSES increased by 0.05 points to stand at
1755.23 points and 1136.36 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 107,136 trades were executed in
today’s trading session with a trading volume of 126.06 million securities
generating a turnover of Taka 3,286.39 million.

Gainers took a moderate lead over the losers as out of 354 issues traded,
173 securities gained price while 131 declined and 50 remained unchanged.

The market-cap of the DSE also fell slightly to Taka 3,727 billion on
Thursday, from Taka 3,730 billion in the previous session.

The top ten gainers were SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund, Intech,
Silva Pharma, Coppertech, CAPM IBBL Mutual Fund, CAPM BDBL Mutual Fund 1,
Standard Ceramic, Exim First Mutual Fund, Intraco and Sea Parl.

National Tubes topped the turnover chart followed by Beacon Pharma, BSC,
SEML FBSL Growth Fund, Standard Ceramic, Monno Staffers, Coppertech,
Sonarbangla Insurance, BSCCL and SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund.

The top ten losers were Premier Cement, Prime Finance, United Air, First
Finance, Popular Life Insurance, SIBL, Sonarbangla Insurance, United Power,
Monno Stafflers and Jamuna Oil.

Besides, the port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) registered a
downbeat maintaining the previous day. CSCX and CASPI decreased by 13.85
points and 18.11 points to stand at 9122.93 points and 15022.46 points
respectively.

At CSE, a total of 5,184,969 shares and mutual fund of 257 companies were
traded, of which 122 issues advanced while 98 declined and 37 issues remained
unchanged.
