7 cops suspended on charge of extortion
KHULNA, Oct 1, 2019 (BSS) – Seven police personnel, including two sub-inspectors, of Khulna district detective branch have been suspended on charge of extortion last night.
Sub-inspectors Lutful and Hassan, assistant sub-inspector Sayeduzzaman and four constables were suspended on charge of extortion and financial irregularities, Police superintendent SM Shafiullah told BSS today.
“They were reportedly suspended as an allegation has been found against them from Chuknagar area under Dumuria upazila in Khulna,” he added.
“We are showing zero tolerance against extortion, corruption and any crimes. They will be terminated if the allegation will have to prove into the departmental investigation in future,” he also said.
