ACC issues letter to investigate corruption
DHAKA, Sept 18, 2019 (BSS) – The enforcement unit of the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) has issued letter to administrative officials asking to investigate corruption.
Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, ACC’s public relation officer, said the letters were sent to the Executive Director Bangladesh Bank, Gazipur District Commissioner and Mymensingh Police Super on Wednesday.
He also said that the letters were sent to give directives to conduct anti-corruption drive.
Also, the enforcement unit has conducted six drives across the country, the officer confirmed.
An enforcement team led by the Assistant Director of ACC Rashedul Islam and Deputy Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya conducted a drive with Titas Gas authorities in Banani’s Golden Tulip hotel to disconnect illegal gas connection.
Another ACC enforcement team conducted a drive in Rajbari Sadar Hospital and Sadar Land Office.
During the drive in the Sadar Land Office, the team found that extra fees were being charged and the public are being harassed while receiving services.
The team will submit a report to the ACC recommending investigation against the Tahsildar and Office Assistant of the land office and other irregularities.
Also, a drive was conducted in Bogura Passport Office and Land office of Borguna’s Amtoli Upazila.
