GAIBANDHA, Sept 12, 2019 (BSS) – Construction work of District Relief
Godown cum Disaster Management Information Centre began on the campus of
deputy commissioner (DC) office here on Wednesday.
Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Disaster
Management and Relief would implement the work at the cost of TK 1.51 crore
while the government of Bangladesh would provide the fund, office sources
said.
DC Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the work through laying down the
foundation stone and unveiling a plaque in the afternoon as the chief guest
and district relief and rehabilitation officer AKM Idris Ali was present at
the event as the special guest.
Speaking at the function, DC Abdul Matin asked the contractor and the
officials to perform the work properly and complete it timely without any
irregularities and criticism.
Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) M. Shahidul Islam, project implementation
officer (PIO) of Sadar upazila Anisur Rahman and other PIOs including media
men were present on the occasion.
The work would be finished by June 30, 2020, it is expected, said an
official.
