President leaves London for home

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2019 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today left London for home wrapping up his a 10-day visit to London for health checkup and eye treatment.

“A VVIP flight (BG 202) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited carrying the President and his entourage members left Heathrow Airport at 6.40 pm (local time),” Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, press minister of Bangladesh High Commission in London, confirmed the news.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneen and senior officials of Bangladesh Mission in London saw him off at the airport, the press minister added.

Meanwhile, President’s deputy press secretary Abul Kalam Azad told BSS that the aircraft is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport around 10.15 am tomorrow.

Earlier on August 31, the head of the state left Dhaka for London.

Abdul Hamid has been suffering from Glaucoma since long. He used to have his health checkup in London when he was the Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (parliament).
