127th birth anniversary of Suhrawardy observed
DHAKA, Sept 8, 2019 (BSS) – The 127th birth anniversary of the champion of democracy and one of the greatest leaders of undivided India Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy was observed in the country today in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, various different political and cultural organizations arranged different programs including discussion and placing floral wraths at his grave in the city.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ), Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Chetana Ekattor placed floral wraths at his grave.
Jote’s Senior Vice President singer Rafiqul Alam and General Secretary and cultural personality Arun Sarker and Awami League leader Balaram Poddar were present on the occasion, among others.
Later, the Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organized a discussion at its Gulshan office with the Jote President Sarah Begum Kabari in the chair.
Suhrawardy died at a Beirut hotel in Lebanon on December 5 in 1963.
