Youth training centre to be set up in every upazila: Russel
DHAKA, Sept 8, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel today said that youth training centre will be set up in every upazila to include younger generation into the mainstream of development.
“Youth training centre will be set up in every upazila to provide youths with work and there will be arrangement for training and entertainments for them,” he told a programme arranged by ‘Yes BD’ and ‘Youth for changing Bangladesh’ in the city.
Russel said that nearly 55 lakh youths have been provided with training so far and among them 22 lakhs are now self-employed.
He said that stadiums have been made in every upazila to keep the youths engaged in sports and away from drugs and terrorism.
Plan International’s Deputy Country Director Laura Cradia and Women and Children Affairs Project Director Dr Abul Hossain were present, among others, at the programme.
