Govt taking country ahead following footsteps of Bangabandhu: Mozammel

MYMENSINGH, Sept 3, 2019 (BSS) – Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said the government is taking ahead the country following the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Bangabandhu had made plans for all welfare-oriented works including education, health and rural development. The incumbent government has been implementing those dreams and plans of Bangabandhu,” he told a discussion at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University at Trishal in Mymensingh, said a press release.

Bangabandhu-Nildal arranged the discussion at ‘Gahi Samyer Gan’ manch on the campus marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu.

The minister said Bangabandhu took the farsighted decision of building the country’s first satellite station at Betbunia. Following his footsteps, now Bangladesh has become successful in materializing the dream of Digital Bangladesh, he added.

Mozammel said Bangladesh has successfully launched its first satellite into the space.

Mozammel said Bangabandhu initiated the efforts to resolve the country’s maritime boundary dispute with India and Myanmar and land boundary problem with India.

In continuation of those efforts, Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resolved the dispute of maritime boundary and land boundary demarcation, he added.

Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University Vice-Chancellor Professor AHM Mostafizur Rahman inaugurated the programme.

Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Religious Affairs Ministry Hafez Maulana Ruhul Amin Madani, MP, and Bangabandhu-Nildal founding convener Professor Md Nazrul Islam, among others, addressed the discussion.
