U-16 girls to leave for Thailand Thursday

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh U-16 women’s football team will leave for Thailand on Thursday (Sept 5) to take part in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship scheduled to be held on September 15-28 in Thailand.

During the stay in Thailand, the girls in red and green will also play three practice matches two against Chonburu FC Women’s team on September 6 and the local clubs on September 6 and 9 and other one against Kasetsart University Women’s team on September 11.

Bangladesh, which drawn in group A along with host Thailand, Japan and Australia, will start their tournament campaign taking on host Thailand on September 15 at Chonburi Stadiumin Chonburi before facing Japan on September 18 at IPE Chonburi Stadium, Chonburi.

The girls in red and green will play their last group match against Australia on September 21 at the same venue. In this regards, a team’s pre departure press conference was held today (Tuesday) at conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to provide all the details of the meet.

BFF women’s wing committee’s chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Dhaka Bank head of communication and branding division Khondokar Anwar Ehotesham, team leader Zakir Hossain, BFF technical director Paul Thomas Samlley, team’s head coach Golam Robbani Choton, assistant coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu, team’s captain Maria Manda and team’s vice captain Akhi Khatun were, among others, present on the occasion.
