DHAKA, August 25, 2019 (BSS) – Two PhD researchers of the Centre for
Advanced Research in Arts and Social Sciences (CARASS) of Dhaka University
(DU) were awarded “AKM Abdul Hamid and Begum Selima Jahan Memorial Research
Scholarship” for their outstanding research works.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman handed over
scholarships to Debashish Bepari (Music department) and Md. Shamim Miah
(Population Sciences department) at a function today at the VC’s lounge.
CARASS Director Prof. Dr. Abdul Bashir, donor’s family member Prof. Dr. AH
Ahmed Kamal and DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal were present there.
Paying glowing tributes to the memories of late AKM Abdul Hamid and late
Begum Selima Jahan, Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the researchers to play
an effective role to enhance the quality of research.
