BNP spreading falsehood over KCC Polls: Nanak

 DHAKA, May 15, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said the BNP leaders are spreading falsehood over the Khulna City Corporation Polls in fear of defeat of their mayoral candidate.

“The leaders of BNP are making falsehood knowing the sure defeat of their candidates in the polls,” he said at a press briefing at the AL president’s political office in Dhanmondi here.

Nanak said BNP leader Rizvi raised many allegations regarding today’s KCC polls. Rizvi is spreading falsehood about the polls, he added.

He said the KCC election was held peacefully. But the leaders of BNP are spreading rumors centering the polls from the very beginning, Nanak added.

He hoped that the Awami League backed mayor candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleq will win the polls.

AL Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, MP, Organizing Secretaries Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, and Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan and Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, among others, were present in the press briefing.
