KHULNA, May 7, 2018(BSS) – A festive atmosphere is prevailing throughout the metropolis centering the election of Khulna City Corporation to be held on May 15.
All five mayoral aspirants especially two main contestants Talukder Abdul Khaleque and Nazrul Islam Monju today conducted election campaign throughout the entire day with their supporters.
In the election, one mayor, 31 general councilors and 10 women councilors in reserved seats will be elected by the voters for the next five years.
Talukder Abdul Khaleque during his campaign at city’s 23 and 24 wards sought votes from voters saying that city dwellers become united for the interest of development in Khulna.
He also expressed hope that people of the city would cast votes in his favour for the interest of Khulna city.
Khaleque also joined different poll campaigns organised by NGOs and cultural committees and professional bodies.
Meanwhile, Nazrul Islam Manju attended campaign at city’s 4 and 6-no wards areas today.
