Cabinet reschedules office time for Ramadan

DHAKA, May 7, 2018 (BSS) – The cabinet today rescheduled the government office times for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan setting 9:00 am to 3:30 pm as working hours from Sunday to Thursday.

The decision was taken in the weekly cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the PMO.

Briefing reporters at Bangladesh Secretariat after the meeting Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices would function from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 15-minute break from 1:15 pm for Johr prayers during the Ramadan.

He said the Supreme Court, hospitals, banks, insurance agencies, emergency services, however, would fix their own office timings during the month.
