National Public Service Day-2019 tomorrow

DHAKA, July 22, 2019 (BSS) – National Public Service Day-2019 will be observed tomorrow with an objective to encourage and motivate the public service officials to extend their service for people’s welfare.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today greeted the recipients of “Public Administration Padak-2019” and issued separate messages on the eve of the day.

In a message, the President said the distribution of the ‘Public Administration Padak-2019’, is praiseworthy initiative, recognising simplification of government services through utilising new and innovative ideas aiming to reach people’s doorstep within a short span of time and in an effective way.

“I believe that the distribution of the Padak would encourage employees engaged in all strata in the public services to offer quality services to people,” said President M Abdul Hamid in his message.

The employees of the republic are usually playing an important role for accomplishing public work, said the President, adding that the government had taken various measures for building a people-oriented civil service.

He said the government announced Vision-2021 and Vision-2041 to make Bangladesh a technology-based, modern and developed country. Even the country would be a secured delta through implementing the ‘Delta Plan’ by 2100, the President added.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, said that Bangladesh would achieve the objectives of the ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ through building an effective, skilled, technology-based and time befitting civil service.

“We are working relentlessly to transforming the country into a modern and developed one and an effective, skilled and technology-based civil administration is required to reach the goal,” said the premier.

The distribution of the public administration Padak is involved with the incentive of the cadres, Sheikh Hasina said, adding that it (public administration padak distribution) will encourage the civil servants to extend their service for people’s welfare.
