Shajahan calls for raising awareness to resist road accident

MADARIPUR, May 04, 2018 (BSS) – Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today called upon the passengers and the pedestrians along with the drivers to become conscious while travelling on the road as consciousness is for checking the increasing rate of road accident in the country.

“Not only the drivers but the passengers and pedestrians also have to raise their awareness for checking the road accident,” said the minister.

The Shipping Minister made this call as the chief guest while he was addressing a tri-annial conference of the district teachers association at Shilpakala Academy here this afternoon.

He said it is not right to accuse only the drivers if any accident takes place. The passengers are too responsible for the accident, he added.

Shajahan Khan said some people talk over mobile phones while they cross roads adding that someone put their hand outside the window while they make travel on bus and that’s why most of the accident takes place.

So, all the people concerned should need to be aware of this aspects, he added. Additional deputy commissioner of Madaripur Sagir Hossen, additional police super Sumon Deve, Sadar Upazila Chairman Pavelur Rahman Shafiq Khan, Pourshava mayor Khalid Hossen, among others, were present.
