RANGPUR, May 4, 2018 (BSS) – The upazila administration distributed 170 bundles of corrugated iron (CI) sheets and Taka 10.10-lakh among 420 hailstorm-affected families of different villages under six unions of Pirganj upazila here yesterday afternoon.
Mayor of Pirganj municipality and General Secretary of Pirganj upazila Awami League (AL) Tazimul Islam Shamim distributed the CI sheets and cheques at a function held on the upazila parisahd premises as the chief guest.
With Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamal Kumar Ghosh in the chair, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nasid Kaiser Riyad, Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman, municipality commissioners Pradip Kumar Biswas and Shafikul Islam attended the function.
The chief guest distributed one bundle of CI sheets and cheques for Taka 3,000 to each of the 170 hailstorm-hit families and cheques for Taka 2,000 to each of the other 250 hailstorm-affected families on the occasion.
While addressing the function, the chief guest said the present pro-people government led by Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina always stands beside the natural calamity-hit people for their quicker rehabilitation.
