Nahid for creative programmes to build talented young generation

DHAKA, May 3, 2018 (BSS) – Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said the government is introducing various creative programmes to build a talented young generation.

“We are providing extra-curriculum activities and different innovative programmes to flourish creative talent of the students,” he told the inaugural function of the Nationwide Creative Talent Hunt-2018 in the auditorium of Azimpur Govt. School and College, an official release said.

State Minister for Education Kazi Keramat Ali, Secretary of Technical and Madrasah Division Md Alamgir, Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Prof Md Mahabubur Rahman and senior officials and teachers, among others, addressed the programme with Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division, Md Sohrab Hossain in the chair.

Nahid said the government has introduced the Nationwide Creative Talent Hunt programme to encourage students to be engaged with different innovative programmes alongside their studies.

He said despite a number of challenges, Bangladesh has some remarkable and praiseworthy achievements in the education sector.

“Distribution of free textbooks among the students of primary and secondary levels, providing stipends, increased enrolment rate and eradicating gender inequality in primary and secondary education have already been acknowledged in different international forums,” he added.
